The Dino Megazord with its Power Sword destroyed a total of 20 giant Monsters by the first season's end, excluding the pilot episode. ![]() This energy usually resulted in the explosive destruction of whatever monster it struck. The Dino Megazord's Power Sword allowed it to perform its most powerful finisher move: the Megazord infusing the Power Sword with red crackling energy before executing a powerful slash, throwing an energy wave into the target. The Power Sword not only gave the Dino Megazord an advantage in battle, but could be used as a substitute power supply when the main sources were unavailable. Descending from the sky, the sword would embed itself into the ground nearby, or on some occasions be caught directly by the Dino Megazord. When a monster needed to be destroyed, any Power Ranger (usually the Red Ranger) would summon the Power Sword (sometimes referred to as the Mega Power Sword and Mega Sword alternatively). The special function of the Yellow Ranger, if any, is unknown. In the episode “ No Clowning Around”, The Blue Ranger apparently ran scans that suggested they could destroy the Pineoctopus with a “multi phase energy blast” which suggests that he runs the scanners. In " An Oyster Stew", Jason directs Kimberly to send a communication signal to Tommy, which may mean the Pink Ranger controls communication equipment. In " Fowl Play", Zack uses the Megazord's Cranial Laser against the Peckster, and in several episodes Jason asks Zack to divert more power to him, suggesting the Black Ranger may control auxiliary weapons. In this mode, the Dino Megazord features fewer ranged energy weapons, compensating with far greater close combat potential. This usually began with a computerized voice stating "Megazord sequence has been initiated," concluding with "Megazord activated!" after the reconnection of Pterodactyl Zord, and the head crests sliding into position. Megazord in Battle Mode as shown in "Once and Always"Įye beams removing acid off of Dragonzord from Oysterizer.Īfter forming the tank mode, the Rangers could initiate transformation into the Dino Megazord's Battle Mode. The cannons mounted on the Mastodon Dinozord relocate to its back, followed the Tyrannosaurus's tail folding into place. The Pterodactyl Dinozord relocates to the chest, while the Tyrannosaurus's head lowers to reveal its head. ![]() In Battle Mode, the Megazord stands up from its Tank Mode formation, with the treads becoming the legs and the cannons becoming the arms. The Mastodon Dinozord forms the cannons while the Pterodactyl Dinozord mounts onto the back. In Megazord Tank Mode, the Tyrannosaurus Dinozord becomes the central component, with the Triceratops and Sabertooth Tiger Dinozords becoming the treads. 2.2 Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always.
